Joined at the wrist, knotted legs. the tarmac sings tonight. road of people, branches onward. Forward descent. no respite. Twisting, stretching endlessly. sentient flesh where a highway used to be. shrieking with every step. buckling under my weight. Sun wont come up this time. sinewy asphalt sung it away. endless walk, through someplace time devoured. i'm nearly nowhere now. just a little longer. They'll make me sing too. I see ten more bodies to walk over. i see ten more bodies to cross i see. Cold fingers on my legs. their nails tear into my thighs. their lonely song blares into the desert sky. The stench of blood fills the air. i embrace the living asphalt. i sink into the mound of flesh. muttering their song.

Gnaw 09:24
Skittering into the unknown, tiny creature. Presses its head against my haggard shoes. Empty black beads for eyes. Pure white scales atop a gaunt reptile. It hits. A rabid hunger. It consumes. Looking down upon the feeble thing. With rabid eyes. I snatch it off the dying land It Wriggles in my grasp. Kicking its legs as its raised to cure my famine. Sinking my teeth into its neck like a feral dog. Ossein grinded between teeth and spat out. Life deteriorating at the speed of light, in a transitory place. Struggling no longer, and leaking crimson . A mosaic of red birthed on white scales. Picked the thing clean. Gnawing on bones.

Pit Stop 04:31
Frozen at a gas station, lead by inertia. A few faceless beings shuffled in and out of the store. The cashier was in a trance, fixated on the murky reflections in the windows. I couldn't move for some reason , I stayed in place , until nightfall. Dread began choking me. As I realized how alone i was. Filthy flourescent lights flickered above , and gave out. Immobile and surrounded by empty highways and dunes. The cashier came again at dusk , his eyes tore into mine. He stepped up to me and asked me where I've been , where I want to be and what I want to see. I remained frozen , unable to utter an answer. He offered a simple nod in return and left. I fell to the floor , reduced to a stepping stone at a pit stop. They all arrived at the same time every day , never once giving me a glance. The cashier still came out at night , to watch me suffer in stillness. He said it's the eyes that give it away. He says he can see the misery in them.

I feel nothing for you fuckin bucket of gold. I'm on the feet of serenity now Baptising myself in your glow. It talks and talks and talks And I hear nothing. Silence maims my voice Moving along its shoulders, like a drunken hunter. Falling through its ribs made of matchsticks. To find a pulsing mass. Transclousent and grey. Bout to burst cause its organs are reaching out. It writhes and screams In human tones. I feel nothing at all Lovely grey mass I'm on the feet of serenity now Drowning myself in your despair.

Floated away from the singing road , a path that felt somewhat right. The vast emptiness greets me. The sand had compound fractures. Its insides spilled across the expanse. Cant do any wrong here. there's nothing for miles. Is this repentance ? Must a sinner stumble through nowhere, alone? A gust of cruel wind guides sand into my eyes. The desert floor gives way , dropping me down to an understanding of my crimes. sand pours into my mouth, and plugs my ears I am sure I deserve this. I am certain distance was the way . Faces I preserved in my physce crumble away. My skin turns to sand I cant tell which grains are me and which were here before. Preserved in the outskirts of time. Nothing for miles.

Back Here 08:00
Back here again. Blinds part to reveal paranoid eyes. Unicolored cuboids, where they reside. This towns trapped in dusk. An empty grocery, mourning streets. I hear them muttering in their homes. glaring at me from each window. As i pull myself through rotting suburbia, they exit. leathery , wrinkled and still. engulfing me in cold stares. The doorknob crumbles as i step in. Familiar stains on the walls. Dust cakes the furniture. back here again. Home always had a familiar smell. It infests my spirit when i rediscover it. Turning safety into something cold. this place breathes without me. Growing stranger each day i'm away.

Dog 09:46
A lone speckled hound trots along the cracked and filthy tarmac. Laced with ticks and pus filled protrusions. old man caked in a century of grime follows close behind. They have a matching limp. He stumbles when the hound does. Dog collapses on the asphalt, and so does the haggard traveller. The mutt whimpers, necrotizing from exhaustion. He crawls to it stricken with a searing sense of loneliness. Laying his head on the dogs sunken belly. Each weary and delayed breathe pushes the tortured creatures soul out. The old man sits up , a stillness seeps into the atmosphere. The rustling of bare skeletal bushes lays underneath a cloud of silence. He sits still , his hand tenderly rested on fur coarse with dirt and blood. He sat there until two cadavers were all that remained. Cracked filthy bones spread across the endless road , grabbing onto each other and moving backwards. Drifting into cold dead hands. And knotting into them.
